The Junior Kennel Club is sponsored by the Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club. The purpose of the club is to introduce and encourage youth to participate in the sport of purebred dogs, and to provide them with meaningful competition where they can learn, practice, and hone their skills and knowledge of the various breeds. above all, it is an opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie of competing with those of a similar age. Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome to participate. You don't even have to have a dog, usually we can provide a dog for you to practice with in the classes. Many people from the dog world have volunteered their time to help run these classes. Junior handling competitions are held by most CKC dog shows during the lunch hour. Junior Kennel Club
